The show features figurative paintings all renderd in the artist’s signature color: grey-a distinctive feature of Solon’s art since his student days at the University of the Philippines College of Arts. Solon produces various images all in grey, lightly tinged with other hues. His subject matter for his paintings varies, from reflections on the human form to nondescript street vignettes in Manila. Monochromatic and oftentimes melancholy. Solon’s fascination with the possibilities posed by the color grey is evident in the entire collection.
